Solistica, with extensive experience in strategic solutions for cold chain, launches a new operation for Johnson & Johnson following the transfer of inventory from Bogotá to the outskirts of the city, with the aim of having a warehouse designed and specialized for the client’s requirements.
We are happy about the official launch of the new Johnson & Johnson operation that will go into operation in warehouse 13 of the Siberia Business Park (PES), in Funza. This project, which began its implementation phase on June 1, 2023, will allow Solistica to provide a custom storage and distribution solution for the company’s products, ensuring the temperature and humidity conditions that their products require.
The operation will have a new temperature control room with a range between 15 and 25°C, and relative humidity control of 60% +/- 5% for the entire storage area of 160 pallet positions. Additionally, a three-level mezzanine was built, with 124 m2 per level (372 m2 in total) for picking operations. A spiral band was also implemented for the outflow of orders, 3 packing tables with computers and Zebra printers, 2 scales of 300 Kg and a scale of 2 tons. Solutions and tools that will help increase the productivity and efficiency of the processes.
The scope of the project also included a series of infrastructure adjustments such as expansion of the fire network in thermo-controlled areas, installation of CCTV security cameras and signage updates, among others. Similarly, the qualification of the thermo-controlled areas will be developed and a complete thermal mapping of the warehouse will be carried out.
Thanks to Solistica’s vast experience in implementing strategic logistics and cold chain operations (more than 20 years in the market), the company designed this comprehensive solution ensuring complete customer satisfaction and covering all the technical and quality requirements necessary for this operation. Solistica’s leadership and know-how in these types of projects allowed for the structuring of a solid plan, focused on minimizing risks and ensuring the achievement of objectives.
The Go Live of the new operation was on January 2, 2024. Currently, the project is in a stabilization and follow-up stage after the start, which includes the final qualification of the facilities, which will be carried out on February 25 of the current year. During this process, the correct performance and functionality of all the implemented infrastructure will be verified through tests.
In this way, Solistica reaffirms once again its ability to take on large-scale logistical challenges and design solutions tailored to the client’s needs, always guaranteeing the highest quality standards in the service.
We are grateful to Johnson & Johnson for choosing Solistica as their strategic logistics partner. With their confidence, we will continue to grow and succeed together.
